Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life who share our passion for helping pets and people! Opportunities are available for:
Adults (18 and older)
Adults (18 and older) completing court-ordered community service
Corporate and workplace volunteer groups (Interested? Complete our Group Volunteer Inquiry Form!)
Community and school groups
Youth volunteers aged 14–17
Please note:
Volunteers aged 14 and 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while volunteering.
A parent or guardian must sign the volunteer application for any individual under 18 years of age.

Volunteer Application Process
1. Meet Age Requirement: We accept volunteers starting at age 14. 14 and 15-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent. 16 and 17-year-olds must have an in-person meeting with the volunteer manager. Parents or guardians must sign applications for any volunteers under the age of 18.
2. Submit An Online Application, which can be located at the bottom of this page.
3. Receive Approval: A background check is required for all applicants.
4. Attend A Volunteer Orientation: Volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Orientation. Volunteer Orientation lasts about 1 hour. Keep in mind that you will be unable to begin volunteering until orientation is completed.
Orientation Dates and Times vary by location. An email with details about orientation will be sent once the application has been completed and the background screen conducted.
5. Begin Volunteering and Making An Impact: Most shifts are generally 2-3 hours long but adjustments can be made.
Shifts must be selected before arrival through our online scheduling system, My Impact, or by contacting the Volunteer Manager.
Please be sure to read the Volunteer Handbook and Waiver as you will be required to sign that you read both at Orientation. Thank you!
General Volunteer Requirements
● Must be able to work well with people – volunteer positions have exposure to staff, other volunteers and/or the public.
● Must be able to take and seek direction and have a self-motivated work ethic.
● Must be able to work independently without direct supervision- and as part of a team.
● Must be able to maintain professional appearance & positive energy when volunteering.
● Must be willing to learn and utilize My Impact, our online volunteer scheduling system.
● Must be able to follow directions, including safety protocols.
● Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals when working in the clinic.
● Must be able to squat, bend, twist, lift, carry and move at least 40 lbs independently when working in the Food Bank or clinic.
● Must be able to demonstrate commitment to upholding the EveryPet Mission.
In order to be considered an active volunteer, aim to commit to volunteer for at least 8 hours within six months. Volunteer roles may have additional requirements. These can be found in the job descriptions.
Group Volunteer Guidelines
We’re thrilled to welcome corporate, community, and organization-based volunteer groups to support our mission! Group volunteer days are a great way to build teamwork while helping pets in need.
Group Guidelines:
We can accommodate up to 12 volunteers per location.
Larger groups can be divided between our Norwood and Cassat locations.
Ideal volunteer shifts are 3 hours, such as 9 AM–12 PM, 12–3 PM, or 1–4 PM.
Norwood: Open for group volunteering Monday–Friday
Cassat: Open for group volunteering Monday–Saturday
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
Volunteers ages 14–15 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or designated chaperone.
We encourage groups to consider hosting a Pet Food Drive and bringing collected donations on your scheduled volunteer day—it’s a fun and meaningful way to make an even bigger impact!
