September Newsletter

September 2026 EveryPet Newsletter

September is here, and plenty is happening at EveryPet! From expanding access to spay and neuter through Rosie’s Fund to welcoming veterinary students who are learning alongside our team, we’re continuing to find new ways to make a difference for pets and the people who love them. ❤️

In this issue, you’ll learn more about how you can help community cats, meet some of the students spending time with our team, and hear from one of our own in our latest employee interview.

Every day brings a new opportunity to keep pets healthy, support the people who care for them, and keep pets in the home.

Giving community cats a better life header

Every community cat deserves the chance to live a healthier, safer life. Spay/neuter helps prevent unwanted litters and reduces the number of cats entering an already overwhelmed shelter system, while vaccinations help protect cats from preventable diseases.

Rosie’s Fund helps make these essential services possible for community cats who might otherwise go without. And thanks to generous donors like the Alan and Pam Green Family Foundation and Joseph Strasser Trust, support for Rosie’s Fund is making an even greater impact. Your gift will be matched — dollar for dollar — up to $55,000. That means your compassion will go twice as far.

Together, we can give community cats a healthier future while building a healthier community for everyone.

Upcoming Events & Recent Developments

Last Summer Spay Day

Our last Spay Day of Summer 2026 just wrapped up on Sunday, September 13th. We had 14 dogs and 10 cats from local rescue groups. 9 students from the University of North Florida joined us, along with 10 from Lincoln Memorial University in Orange Park.

Spay Day is a day full of learning and hands-on experience for veterinary students — something they might not otherwise get.

Thanks to generous sponsors like the John R. Peterson Foundation, events like these help train the next generation of veterinarians while providing essential care to pets in need

Welcoming New Interns & Externs!

Last month, we welcomed two new veterinary students to our team!

Dr. Margaret Cirves, UF’s Shelter Medicine Intern, is with us for a six-week rotation at both our Cassat and Norwood locations.

We also welcomed Kaitlyn Yockney, a fourth-year veterinary student from Cornell University, for a two-week externship with our team.

We’re excited to have both of them learning alongside our team and gaining experience in high-volume, accessible veterinary care.

Getting Involved: How You Can Help

Pet Food Bank August

No one should have to choose between feeding their pets and feeding their family.

That’s why our Pet Food Bank exists: to help qualifying families experiencing financial hardship keep their beloved pets healthy, nourished, and at home.

You can help, too! Donating through our Amazon Wishlist, dropping off pet food at one of our donation locations, or making a financial contribution directly supports the Pet Food Bank and makes an immediate impact for pets and the families who love them.

Volunteer Spotlight

volunteers september email

This month, we’re highlighting two dedicated Pet Food Bank volunteers: siblings Kevin Peterson and Kathleen White!

For the past two years, Kevin and Kathleen have consistently shown up to help distribute pet food to community members in need. Their dedication and reliability have made them such an important part of our volunteer team.

Thank you, Kevin and Kathleen, for all you do!

Volunteers are at the heart of EveryPet’s mission, and we’re always looking for compassionate individuals and groups to lend a helping hand. 🫶

Whether you’re an individual volunteer, part of a corporate team, a community group, or completing community service hours, there’s a place for you at EveryPet.
